The Legacy of Women Awards Luncheon began in 1993 and has since honored seventy-four community women for their outstanding contributions in the fields of Arts, Business, Education, Health & Human Services, and Volunteerism.
The Legacy Luncheon is planned, organized, presented, and evaluated by a dedicated group of volunteers representing all of Tarrant County. SafeHaven of Tarrant County is very fortunate to have such a wonderful group of volunteers that devote countless hours to making Legacy such a successful event.
Legacy has become a "must attend" event, selling a growing number of tickets each year. Receiving notable media attention, the luncheon has elevated the presence and reputation of SafeHaven, the newly merged organization of the Women's Shelter and Women's Haven, and its services for women and children of domestic violence.
